Riding in Geneva

Are you in Geneva for a short time and looking for a guide to take you on the roads, gravel or climbs of the region?

We can show you where to go, sort you out with a bike, and even support you on your morning, day long or weekend ride in and around the city.

Borne Cycling has been based in Geneva since 2006 and we have ridden pretty much every single road, lane, and gravel track around the entire canton of Geneva, Vaud and in neighbouring France.

One of our recent clients, Paul Acerbi, has done a great write up below of his experiences combing a work trip with exploring our fabulous home region by bike.

"You should bring your bike!" my Swiss colleague said to me while i was still in Toronto. "Really?" I said. While I had a bike bag and have travelled with my bike, I thought it would be too cold in March and too hilly for some early seasons riding. Boy was I glad I did. For the two weeks I was in Geneva for business, I found 6 times where I could ride in and around the area, seeing parts of the countryside without huge elevation gains that my early season form could not have handled.

Touring Geneva by bike opened up a whole new world for me during my business trip. As a cycling enthusiast, I was thrilled to discover that combining work and play was not only possible but incredibly rewarding … and Borne Cycling Tours made my experience unforgettable with their knowledge of the region and carefully curated routes.

One of the best parts about cycling in Geneva is the diverse terrain. From gentle lakeside paths to rolling hills, there's something for every skill level. I was particularly impressed by the well-maintained bike lanes and cycling-friendly infrastructure throughout the city and surrounding areas. It's clear that Geneva takes its reputation as a cyclist's paradise seriously.

During my rides, I explored picturesque villages, vineyards, and even crossed into nearby France – all while enjoying breathtaking views of Lake Geneva and the Alps. The crisp spring air and stunning scenery made every pedal stroke a joy, even for my winter-softened legs.

Thanks to Paul I was able to maximize my riding time around my work commitments. Whether it was an early morning spin before meetings or a longer weekend excursion, Borne Cycling ensured I got the most out of my time on two wheels.

For anyone considering a business trip to Geneva, I can't recommend bringing your bike strongly enough. And if you do, definitely reach out to Paul for guided tours or route suggestions. His local insight and passion for cycling will elevate your experience from a simple ride to an unforgettable adventure. One thing that sets Paul apart is his ability to maximize your riding experience. He knows exactly which areas to avoid - those less scenic routes or congested spots that could waste your precious time. Instead, he'll guide you to the “hidden gems” ensuring every moment of your ride is worthwhile and memorable.

I 'm so glad I brought my bike! My Geneva cycling experience surpassed all expectations. It transformed what could have been a routine business trip into a rejuvenating escape that left me energized for my work and eager to return. MOST IMPORTANTLY I’ll be coming home a stronger cyclist than when I left, ready to inflict some friendly pain on our next group ride!! 😊

So, the next time you're heading to Geneva for business, remember: pack your bike, contact Paul at Borne Cycling, and prepare for an extraordinary ride that will not only refresh your spirit but also your legs!!
