About Us
Paul started riding bikes seriously when he realised his knees wouldn’t put up with anymore rugby, running, football, squash and all the other sports he’d done since childhood. He bought his first road bike not long after moving to Geneva from the UK in 2006, and promptly fell off it on his first ride (please note, tram tracks are not your friend).
After progressing from shortish rides around the local vineyards, to longer and longer rides, he did his first big day in 2008 riding the 180km round the lake on the Cyclotour de Leman.
From then he was truly bitten by the bug and began organising local rides with friends leading to the very first Genève 500 ride in 2012. Foolishly trying to ride over 500km with more than 12000m of climbing in 3 days with 4 other willing but totally unprepared friends.
This led to more and more organised rides - exploring further and further into the French and Swiss alps every year, always with the goal to ride new (and perhaps lesser known) roads and climbs.
It also led to refining the approach and ensuring that the only thing anyone who came on one of the trips had to worry about was turning their pedals. Everything else got taken care of. Post ride massage, on road support, route planning, road books, great accommodation, private chef, bike wash, mechanics stand, fully catered lunch stops, just not the weather (but we’re working on it).
Borne Cycling can’t wait to do the same for you, and give you the cycling trip where everything is taken care of.
