Tour du Salève
This is the perfect route for those colder days, when you don’t want to climb too high, but want the feeling of being out of the city and riding in the foothills of the Alps.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it …
Long climbs, quiet roads and a giant pipe
A big day out in the Jura is on the cards if you take on this loop out to Saint Claude, Longchaumois, Les Rousses and Saint Cergue. And you’re guaranteed some of the very best the Jura has to offer, with its fabulous blend of quiet roads, beautiful shaded climbs, and a few nasty ramps to test how many swear words you know.
Medieval Yvoire
A beautiful, relatively flat ride out from Geneva into France to visit the beautiful medieval village of Yvoire on the shores of Lac Leman.
Col de la Colombière
This is the biggest Alpine climb close to Geneva that one can reasonably aim to get out and back to in a day’s ride. And what a beast it is.
Aire - Rhône Gravel
This is my go-to gravel loop from downtown Geneva when I’ve got around 90 mins to spare. It runs alongside 2 rivers (one much more well known than the other), and maximises your time off road, with only a few short sections on tarmac.
Geneva Vineyards
This is probably my favourite place for riding in and around Geneva.
The reason being there is so much variety to be had in the vineyards meaning you can do anything from a quick 1 hour loop right up to a monster 5 hour ride with over 1500m of elevation.
Leaving the Geneva Basin – Tour du Vuache
This is an excellent winter training loop from Geneva – with a decent amount of distance and elevation but never going over 700m above sea level. Perfect when there is snow in the big hills but you don’t just want to ride along the lakeshore.
